bullet  Georgian Brass Rim Lock, reclaimed large antique

back one page
go to the beginning of category: Locks - rim locks
We have had this type of lock before but none have been quite this big. Fully restored and in full working order including the double locking dead bolt. The brass case has not been subjected to aggressive polishing mops with harsh abrasives. Instead the case has been cleaned and hand polished leaving the wonderful patina in place. Supplied with a reproduction brass keep, hand constructed from reclaimed materials in our rural Wiltshire workshops and a recut key. Lock body and mechanism are completely original. Old standard sized spindle (7.8 mm) is a loose fit in the spindle cam, easy to shim to remove play.
