bullet  Antique Door Knocker, cast iron, Kenrick

back one page
go to the beginning of category: Door Knockers
A striking looking door knocker (excuse the pun) in cast iron by Archibald Kenrick and Sons. Number 416 in remarkable condition due to the fact that someone had covered it in some kind of bituminous compound that defied all our normal methods of removal. Well we got it clean in the end and the casting details are sharp and clean and it almost looks like new. Except it isn't. We are happy to assess this as an original item although we don't currently have a design date. Ongoing research will hope fully uncover more information about this intriguing knocker. Supplied complete with two replacement securing studs suitable for doors up to 6cm thick, longer studs are available on request
